Damp, often saline, disturbed sites. In water or mud. Coast. Occasionally ranges and tablelands.
Introduced annual or perennial herb, mat-forming, to 0.60 m tall. Somewhat fleshy hairless stems. Leaves somewhat fleshy, alternating along the stems, 1-8 cm long, 2–10 mm wide, entire or with few teeth or lobes; with a sheath at the base. Upper leaves smaller, entire. Flower heads 5-12 mm in diameter, yellow, hemispherical to cup-shaped, with many florets, 0 petals. Flowers mainly Winter to Spring.
