A range of habitats, particularly temporarily wet areas. Western Slopes, ACT, and tablelands.
Annual herb to 0.15 m tall. Stems and leaves fleshy. Leaves opposite each other, 0.2-0.6 cm long, 0.8–4.4 mm wide, often red-brown; flat to concave above, often distinctly convex below, surfaces hairless, the leaves of each pair united at the base to form a ridge round the stem, tips blunt, rarely pointed. Flowers cream or pale yellow to pink or red, with 5 petals shortly fused at the base, the lobes 1.2-2.1 mm long. Flowers in dense clusters at the bases of the leaves.
All native plants on unleased land in the ACT are protected.
