Woodland, heath, and grassy areas. Kosciuszko National Park and ACT. Tablelands and ranges south of the Hume Highway.
Prostrate or mat-forming shrub, rooting at the nodes. Stems hairy. Leaves alternating along the stems, 0.2-0.5 cm long, about 0.5 mm wide, linear to spoon-shaped, tips blunt or pointed, surfaces smooth, hairless, or hairy near the leaf tips. Flowers pea shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel, Standard petal yellow to orange, occasionally pink, with red markings, 7-10 mm long, keel dark red. Calyx tapering gradually towards the base. Flowers in clusters of 1-4. Flowers Spring to Autumn.
In all species of Dillwynia, the standard petal is much broader than long.
All native plants on unleased land in the ACT are protected.
