Prickly parrot-pea, Sieber's parrot-pea

Dry forest and woodland, often on stony ridges. Widespread, but not recorded from Kosciuszko National Park.
Shrub to 2.5 m tall. Sharp-pointed leaves. Stems hairy. Leaves alternating up the stems, 0.7-2 cm long, about 0.4–0.8 mm wide, rigid, linear, triangular in cross section, surfaces usually hairless. Yellowish leaf stalks 0.4-1.2 mm long. Standard petal 5.5-9 mm long. Flowers pea shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel, yellow with red to purple or dark markings, keel red. Calyx abruptly narrowed at the base. Flowers in 2–10-flowered clusters up to 2.5 cm long. Flowers Sep.–Nov.
In all species of Dillwynia, the standard petal is much broader than long.
All native plants on unleased land in the ACT are protected.
