Forest and heath. Ranges and tablelands south from Tallaganda National Park. Coastal south of Pambula.
Tufted perennial herb to 1 m high, rhizomatous. Basal leaves 10–70 cm long, 5–10 mm wide, linear, sword-shaped, flat, surfaces dark green to slightly glaucous, hairless, finely striate. Stem leaves alternating up the flower stalks, small. Flowers white with 6 'petals', the outer 'petals' white, broad, 25–35 mm long inner 'petals' usually purple-tinged or finely purple-veined, often at least partly yellow inside, smaller. Flowering: October–January
