Shrub to 1.5 m high. Branchlets hairy with short bent hairs. Leaves alternating up the stems, 2.5–6 cm long, compound, with mostly 17–29 or more leaflets, each usually 0.4–0.7 cm long, 1–4 mm wide, surfaces hairy, margins rolled down, tips sometimes obscurely 2- or 3-toothed, the terminal leaflet lobe-like. Flowers male, female, or bisexual. Flowers with 0 petals, and 4, rarely 5, sepals, 3–4 mm long, falling early. Flowers in branched clusters. Seed cases 3-winged, 13–16.5 mm long, 15–20 mm wide, sparsely hairy, wings 3–4 mm wide, leathery.
