Notes

Shrub to 3 m high. Leaves alternating up the stems, 1.2–3.5 cm long, 6–30 mm wide, margins entire and rolled down, tips pointed and usually 3-toothed. Flowers male, female, or bisexual. Flowers with 0 petals, and 4 or rarely 5 sepals, 1.2–3 mm long, remaining at the seeding stage. Flowers single or in 3–6-flowered clusters. Seed cases 3- or rarely 4-angled, usually with narrow wings 1–2 mm wide, sparsely hairy or sometimes hairless.
