Wet heath, herbfields, and bogs, often with Sphagnum, at higher altitudes. Kosciuszko National Park.
Perennial herb clothed in old leaf bases, rhizomatous. Flower stems to 0.12 m high, hairless. Leaves basal, crowded or in a convex rosette, leaf blades 2–8 cm long, 3-5 mm wide, upper surface covered with glandular hairs that trap insects, leaf stalks 3–5 cm long, not easily distinguished from the leaf blades, sheathing at the base. Lower leaves often hairless. Flowers white, with 5 petals 5–11 mm long, usually shorter than the sepals. Flowers mostly single, sometimes paired. Flowering: spring to summer.
