Notes

Tree to 25 m tall. Fruit somewhat fleshy. Bark silvery grey, with fine longitudinal fissures, often prominently fissured and corky at the base on larger trees. Young stems hairy with fawn, brown, or ginger hairs, soon becoming hairless. Leaves mostly opposite each other, rarely alternating up the stems, 2.5–11.5 cm long, 10–68 mm wide, green and glossy, margins entire. Flowers white or cream with 5 narrow hooded petals each about 1.5 mm long, and 5 petal-like sepals each 1–2 mm long, much more noticeble than the petals. Flowers in small to large clusters. Fruit orange to yellow, round, 4–8 mm in diameter. The fleshy outer layer dries out and falls away leaving the reddish brown 'seeds' exposed but still attached to the base of the fruit. Fruits autumn-winter.
