Dry forest and grassy woodland. Sydney area and Western Slopes. Rarely elsewhere.
Prostrate shrub to 3 m diameter. Fruit fleshy. Branches hairless, obscurely to prominently warty. Leaves alternating along the stems, 2–12.5 cm long, 3.5–29 mm wide, tips pointed, margins with prominent curved down teeth towards the leaf bases, entire, or occasionally with some small teeth near the tips, surfaces hairless. Flowers white to mauve, 3.5–11 mm long, tubular, with 5 lobes, vaguely 2-lipped. Flowers in clusters of 1-3. Flowering: spring–summer. Fruit white to reddish purple.
