Where found

Forest. Ranges SE of Delegate. Kosciuszko National Park.

Notes

Tree to 30 m tall. Bark rough on all but the smallest branches, stringy, grey to red-brown. Juvenile stems rounded in cross section, rough at first. Juvenile leaves opposite each other for 3 to 5 pairs then alternating up the stems, 4.5-15 cm long, 35–90 mm wide, dull, green to blue-green, rough for 9 to 11 nodes. Adult leaves alternating up the stems, 8.5–23 cm long, 17–55 mm wide, slightly glossy or dull, blue-green to olive-green or green. Crown bluish-green. Flowers white, with 0 petals. Mature flower buds 7–14 mm long, caps conical. Flowers June. Flower clusters 7–11-flowered. Gumnuts 9–13 mm in diameter. Gumnuts that have dropped their seed have valves that are not very noticeable or slightly protruding.
