Where found

Roadsides and gardens. Sydney area north to Gosford. Naturally occurs only in WA.

Notes

Introduced tree to 10 m tall.  Trunks fluted.  Bark smooth throughout, shiny.  Branchlets copiously white-waxy.  Juvenile stems rounded in cross section, glaucous except for very base which will have started to develop typical adult bark.  Juvenile leaves opposite each other for about 5 pairs then alternating up the stems, 5.5–9 cm long, 15–25 mm wide, blue-green to glaucous.  Adult leaves alternating up the stems, 5.8–13 cm long, 8–23 mm wide, dull, glaucous but weathering glossy, green.  Flowers white, with 0 petals. Flower clusters 7 flowered.  Mature flower buds 8-13 mm long.  Flowers spring and autumn.  Gumnuts 6-10 mm in diameter. Gumnuts that have dropped their seed have prominently protruding valves
