Woodland. North of Mittagong. Coast, ranges, and tablelands.

Notes

Tree to 15 m tall. Bark rough throughout, tessellated or fibrous-flaky, grey to red-brown. Juvenile stems cylindrical. New growing tips often glaucous but wax not persisting on stems or leaves.  Juvenile leaves opposite each other for 3 to 7 pairs then alternating up the stems, 4.5–10 cm long, 20–60 mm wide, dull, green to grey-green. Adult leaves alternating up the stems, 6–13 cm long, 9–20 mm wide, glossy or dull, green to grey-green. Flowers white, with 0 petals. Flower clusters frequently paired, 7-13 flowered.  Mature flower buds 6-11 mm long, caps at least as long as the base. Flowers spring-autumn. Gumnuts 6-8 mm in diameter. Gumnuts that have dropped their seed have strongly protruding valves
