Where found

Sphagnum swamps, streams or other damp situations in woodland and grassland at high altitude. ACT, the mountains to the west, and Kosciuszko National Park. Ranges and eastern edge of the tablelands in Wadbilliga National Park and nearby.

Notes

Annual herb to 0.4m tall. Stems with dense glandular hairs and some coarse non-glandular hairs. Leaves opposite each other. Upper stem leaves mostly 0.6–3.6 cm long, 1.7–9.5 mm wide, both surfaces covered with coarse short hairs, lower surface with stalkless glands, margins usually lobed, or sometimes more or less toothed with 2–5 pairs of teeth, or lobed and toothed. Flowers usually violet to mauve to pink, rarely white, 9–19 mm long, tubular, 2-lipped, with 5 lobes. Flowers in clusters of 10–32 flowers. Flowering: December–March.

Family was Scrophulariaceae.

All native plants on unleased land in the ACT are protected.
