Where found

Woodland, grassy areas, roadsides, disturbed sites, moist sites, and along streams. Widespread. Mainly in the Sydney area and the ACT.

Notes

Introduced annual, biennial, or short-lived perennial herb to 2.5 m tall, strongly liquorice-scented. Stems grooved, hairless, usually glaucous. Leaves basal and alternating up the stems, 30–50 cm long, bright green, hairless, stalks hollow, bases sheathing the stem. Leaves feathery, repeatedly dissected into numerous thread-like segments each 0.5–10 cm long, to 0.5 mm wide. Flowers yellow, 1-3 mm in diameter, with 5 petals, in many-flowered clusters 7–15 cm diameter. Flowers Spring to Summer.
