Grassy/shrubby understorey in subalpine forest. Kosciuszko National Park. Namadgi National Park, ACT.
Annual or biennial herb to 0.7 m high. Basal leaves 5–7 cm long, 3–7 mm wide; stem leaves opposite each other, 3–7 cm long, 4–6 mm wide. Flowers white or violet tinged, with grey-violet streaks, 20–25 mm in diameter, tubular, with 5 lobes. Flowers in 12- 35 flowered clusters. Flowers March and April.
Readily distinguished from all other Australian species of Gentianella by the combination of its forest habitat and late flowering.
All native plants on unleased land in the ACT are protected.
