Woodland, grassy areas, and near streams and bogs. Kosciuszko National Park and ACT. Tablelands and the western edge of the ranges east and south of the ACT.
Perennial herb to 0.50 m high, with a taproot, hairless. Strong aniseed odour when rubbed. Leaves mostly alternating up the stems, compound, 12-35 cm long, with 5–13 leaflets 1.5–9.5 cm long, 1.5–5 mm wide, tips pointed, margins entire, surfaces hairless.The lowermost leaflets dissected again, Most plants with bisexual flowers, a few with male, female, and bisexual flowers on the same plant. Flowers 1-2 mm in diameter, with 5 white to cream petals, in open clusters. Flowers Spring to Summer.
