Where found

Forest and rocky sites. SE Forests National Park, Bemboka section.

Notes

Shrub to 4 m high. Branchlets round or almost round to biconvex in cross section, with several longitudinal ridges, densely hairy with two-armed and simple hairs. New growth rusty or apricot-coloured, soon becoming green, young branchlets often remaining pale apricot-coloured. Leaves alternating up the stems, 1.7-8.5 cm long, 8.5-25 mm wide, upper surface glossy, lower surface densely hairy, margins entire, rolled. Flowers with 4 'petals' joined together in pairs, 'petals' red or reddish pink with apricot-coloured, brownish grey, or light rusty tips, hairy outside, hairless inside below the beard. Very early flower buds wholly apricot-coloured. Gynoecium 16-21 mm long, style red or reddish pink, almost hairless. Flowers in dense clusters. Flowers sporadically.

In the absence of specific information, seeds of all species of Grevillea have been keyed as having one wing.
