Where found

Moist areas in forest, often near streams, Sydney area and Blue Mountains. Often cultivated.

Notes

Shrub to 5 m high. Leaves alternating up the stems, mostly 10–22 cm long, 10–20 mm wide, margins entire to coarsely toothed, lower surface silky. Flowers with 4 'petals' joined together in pairs, 'petals' pinkish fawn, appressed hairy outside, hairless inside. Gynoecium 21–24 mm long; style pink to red, hairless. Flower clusters toothbrush-like, 4.5–7.5 cm long. Flowering: mainly August–November.

In the absence of specific information, seeds of all species of Grevillea have been keyed as having one wing.
