Moister areas of woodland or heath, often beside creeks or in swampy ground. Coast and ranges north of Berry.
Shrub to 3 m high. Leaves alternating up the stems, 5–14 cm long, 4–20 mm wide, margins entire, and curved to rolled down, upper surface wrinkled, lower surface hairy. Flowers with 4 red or rarely pink 'petals' joined together in pairs, hairy outside, bearded inside. Gynoecium 27–35 mm long; style red or rarely pink, hairless except for short erect hairs near the tips. Flower clusters 2–4 cm long, often almost one-sided. Flowering: mainly winter and spring.
In the absence of specific information, seeds of all species of Grevillea have been keyed as having one wing.
