Moister areas of dry forest and heath. Coast and ranges north from west of Wollongong.
Shrub to 3 m high. Leaves alternating up the stems, mostly 1–4 cm long, 4–12 mm wide, margins entire and curved down, upper surface dotted, lower surface hairy. Flowers with 4 'petals' joined together in pairs, 'petals' red or rarely coral pink, hairy outside, bearded inside. Gynoecium 25–31 mm long; style red or rarely coral pink, mostly hairless. Flower clusters 2–4 cm long, dome-shaped, often hanging down. Flowering: most months, mainly spring.
In the absence of specific information, seeds of all species of Grevillea have been keyed as having one wing.
