Shrub to 1.8 m high, sometimes rhizomatous. Leaves alternating up the stems, 3–7.5 cm long, 0.7–1.3 mm wide, margins abruptly bent down, usually obscuring all lower surface except the hairless midvein. Flowers with 4 'petals', joined together in pairs, 'petals' white with brown lobes, appressed hairy to sparsely hairy outside, bearded inside opposite the ovary. Gynoecium 7–9 mm long, style mostly hairless. Flower clusters erect, umbel-like.
In the absence of specific information, seeds of all species of Grevillea have been keyed as having one wing.
