Forest and heath. Coastal south of Eden.
Shrub to 5 m high or prostrate. Leaves with sharp points. Branchlets sparsely to moderately hairy. Leaves alternating up the stems, 2–18 cm long, 1.5–5 mm wide, twisted through 90° at the base, flat or triangular in cross section, rigid, hairless, with 1–3 prominent longitudinal veins. Flowers with 4 cream to white 'petals' 1.5–3.5 mm long, free from each other when the flowers are fully open, hairless. Gynoecium 4–6 mm long. Flowers in clusters of 6–18 flowers, often several clusters close together. Flowers Winter to Spring. 'Nuts' oblong-oval, 15–25 mm long, 8–11 mm wide, rough but without distinct warts, beak short, straight. Seeds with one wing.
