Low swampy areas, sometimes appearing semi-aquatic. Coastal north from Jervis Bay.
Shrub to 2 m high. Stems hairy and prickly. Leaves alternating up the stems. Lower leaves 3–8 cm long, margins entire to 3–5-lobed. Upper leaves on the flowering branches greatly reduced. Flowers yellow with a red spot at the base of the petals, 30–50 cm long, with 5 petals. Flowers single or forming an elongated cluster.
