Damp places in forest, along streams, and in swamps. Widespread.

Notes

Small slender perennial herb, sprawling, creeping and rooting at least at the lower nodes, occasionally mat-forming. usually 0.02–0.1 m high. Stems hairless or hairy, to more than 1 m long. Leaves arising from the nodes, single or in clusters, round to kidney shaped, 4-25 mm in diameter, deeply dissected into 3–5 segments, often appearing compound, segments to about 1 cm long, surfaces bristly, hairs more dense on the lower surface. Leaf stalks with hairs pointing back. Flowers small, with 5 greenish, yellowish or purplish petalsUmbels small, head-like, 3–5 mm in diameter, 3–9-flowered. Flowering: throughout the year, mainly November–March.

Family was Apiaceae.
