Moist places in forest, woodland, and grassy areas; and gullies and swamps. Widespread.
Prostrate or sprawling perennial herb to 0.15 m high, rarely more, rooting at the nodes, often forming mats. Stems fleshy, 4-ridged. Leaves opposite each other, frequently clustered, 0.2–2 cm long, 2-5 mm wide, hardly or not stem-clasping, margins flat or wavy. Flowers yellow to orange, often with greenish yellow centres, 3–8 mm in diameter, with 5 petals. Flowers in clusters of 1–3 flowers. Flowering: spring-autumn.
Family was Clusiaceae.
