Dry forest, woodland, and grassy areas, often in rocky places. Kosciuszko National Park, Western Slopes, and the ACT. Tablelands north and west of the ACT. Rarely elsewhere.
Shrub to about 1.5 m tall, with scattered, appressed hairs. Leaves alternating up the stems, to 6.5 cm long, compound, rachis flattened, 0.5-2.5 mm wide, usually with 11-19 leaflets, each leaflet 0.1-0.6 cm long, 1-3 mm wide, margins entire, tips blunt or notched. Some or all leaflets may have fallen early. Flowers 5-9 mm long, pea shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel, pink to pinky mauve. Flower clusters 2.5-5.5 cm long, with 5–20 flowers. Flowers mainly Spring.
