Moist forest, shrubland, rocky areas, gullies, and the Shoalhaven River gorge. Coast and ranges between west of Wollongong to Morton National Park.
Annual or short-lived perennial herb to 2.5 m high. Hairless. Stem leaves alternating up the stems, mostly 4–8 cm long, margins toothed. Flowers white, with 4 petals each 3–4 mm long. Seed cases 0.5–2 cm long, 0.7–1 mm wide, curved, stalks 6–10 mm long. Flowers in elongating clusters at the tops of the stems. Seeds sticky when wet but scarcely mucilaginous.
