Woodland, shrubland, grassy areas, and disturbed sites, often on seasonally wet ground. Tablelands north of Bredbo. ACT. Occasionally on the Western Slopes.
Grass like annual herb to 0.05 m tall. Stems absent. Leaves somewhat fleshy, clustered at the base of the plant, 1-10 cm long, 0.5-2 mm wide, flattened cylindrical, hairy when young, then hairless, tips pointed. Flower heads 3-5 mm long, 2–5 mm in diameter, greenish to pale, oval to hemispherical, with about 5–30 minute florets, 0 petals. Flower heads crowded. Flowers Winter to Spring.
