Cultivated as an ornamental, occasionally naturalised. Disturbed sites. Mostly Canberra and the Queanbeyan district. Sporadic elsewhere.
Introduced prostrate or climbing perennial herb. Stems to about 3m long, winged. Leaves alternating along the stems, compound, with 2 leaflets, each 3-10 cm long, 5-40 mm wide, hairless, tips blunt, sometimes mucronate; tendrils usually 5 or more, stalks 2–5 cm long, winged. Paired leafy stipules 1-3 cm long. Flowers 20-30 mm long, pea shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel, purple-pink to white, in clusters 15–25 cm long of 3-15 flowers. Flowers Spring to Summer.
