Perennial herb or shrub to 0.6 m tall, usually with a woody base. Stems sparsely to densely hairy. Leaves alternating up the stems, mostly 1-1.5 cm long, 1-1.5 mm wide, flat to curved in cross section, densely hairy, margins sometimes curved down, bases continuing down the stems. tips pointed. Flower heads yellow, 8–10 mm in diameter, with many florets, 0 petals, more or less hemispherical, borne singly at the tops of the stems. Bodies of the 'seeds' hairy.
