Tree or shrub to 6 m high. Stems more or less cylindrical. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, alternating up the stems, 4–8 cm long, 1–8 mm wide, tips squared off to notched and 2-toothed, margins curved to rolled down or more or less toothed, lower surface white stellate-hairy (needs a hand lens or a macro app on your phone/tablet to see), midrib prominent. Flowers with 5 petals each about 3.5 mm long, pale yellow to white, gland-dotted, hairless. Flowers in clusters of about 10 flowers. Flowering: spring.
