Damp shaded areas in mountain forest, grassy areas, bare ground, gully slopes, and near streams. Kosciuszko National Park, the mountains to the north, ACT, tablelands, and the western edge of the ranges.
Stoloniferous prostrate perennial herb, hairy to densely hairy. Branches with leaves usually along the full length. Leaves alternating along the stems, overall 2–8 cm long, 6–15 mm wide, deeply dissected, the tips of the lobes pointed with more or less mucronate tips, surfaces dotted with glands, bases stem-clasping, stalks slender, about 10 mm long. Flower heads 5–12 mm in diameter, with thick stalks 1–2 cm long in flower, lengthening to 5-6 cm at the seeding stage. Flowering: mainly spring–summer.
