Dry forest and woodland, often near streams. Coast and ranges between Jervis Bay and the Nowra district.
Shrub to 2.5 m tall. Bark rough and finely fissured. Younger stems with a conspicuous flange tending to curve about the stem, barely longer than the leaf base. Stems almost hairless. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, alternating up the stems, mostly 1-2 cm long, 3-4 mm wide, flat, thick, glands prominent; tips tapering, point blunt and folded; bases tapering, stalkless. Flowers with 5 white petals. Nuts persisting, about 8 mm in diameter but variable in size.
