Near old habitations, and roadsides. Grows from dumped garden waste. Coast and ranges north from the Wollongong district.
Introduced herb arising each year from a bulb. Leaves basal, 25–50 cm long, 5–20 mm wide, hairless, dark green. Flower stalks 0.4–0.6 m long, compressed, biconvex in cross section, with 2 prominent margins. Flowers scented, nodding. Flowers with 6 'petals', white with green spots near the tips, each 10–16 mm long, spreading. Flower clusters 1–5-flowered. Flowering: autumn to early spring.
