Disturbed sites, often moist pastures and gardens. Mainly Sydney area, ACT, the mountains to the west, and Kosciuszko National Park. Occasional elsewhere.
Introduced annual or biennial herb, prostrate to sprawling with stems to about 1 m long, or to 0.6 m tall. Stems stellate hairy (needs a hand lens or a macro app on your phone/tablet to see). Leaves alternating along the stems, about 2-6 cm long, 20-60 mm wide, 5–7-lobed or more or less unlobed, bases cordate, margins scalloped, surfaces sparsely hairy; stalks longer than the leaf blades. Flowers with 5 mauve to pink or white petals each 6-12 mm long, in clusters.
