Woodland, heath, and grassland, in, or on the margins of, swamps or boggy sites. Coast and ranges south from Eden and Bombala.
Perennial herb, rhizomatous. Flower stalks to 0.14 m high. Stems hairless. Leaves in a basal rosette, 0.8–5.5 cm long, 2.5–18 mm wide, margins toothed, wavy, or almost entire, upper surface a different colour from lower surface. Flowers pale blue or mauve to purple, 7.5–12 mm long, tubular, the tube pale to white, boss closing the throat flecked or entirely yellow, or possibly white, 2-lipped, upper lip notched, the lower lip 3-lobed. Flowers usually in clusters of 1–4 at the tops of the flower stalks. Flowers Sep.–Apr.
