Dry forest, heath, grassy areas, moist areas, and stream banks. Coast, ranges, and the eastern edge of the tablelands.
Shrub or tree to 10 m tall. Bark papery. Branchlets initially hairy, soon becoming hairless. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, opposite or almost opposite each other, 1-4.5 cm long, 1-3.5 mm wide, tips pointed, surfacees hairless. Flower heads 15-40 mm long, many-flowered, white. Individual flowers with 5 petals each about 3 mm long. Stamens about 8-20 mm long. Flowers Spring to Summer.
