Sprawling shrub, stems to 0.4m long. Leaf tips sharp. Stems hairy. Leaves alternating along the stems or opposite each other, 1.5-4 cm long, 5-15 mm wide, upper surface strongly reticulate and shining, lower surface silky. Flowers 14-18 mm long, pea shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel, yellow to orange with a red to purple centre. Flowers in few-flowered clusters or rarely single. Flowers Spring.
