Introduced annual herb to 0.25 m tall. Young stems hairy. Leaves basal and alternating up the stems, 1-4 cm long, 2-4 mm wide, bristly, with pointed tips. Flowers 4-5 mm long, yellow, tubular, with 5 spreading lobes about 1 mm long, much shorter than the tube. Flowers in clusters. Flowers Spring-Summer.
