Occasionally naturalised. Mostly Sydney area. Doubtfully naturalised in the ACT.
Introduced shrub or tree to 8m tall. Leaves in whorls or opposite each other, 5–21 cm long, 10-35 mm wide, leathery, lower surface paler, hairless or hairy, tips pointed. Flowers white, pink, or red, usually 30-60 mm in diameter, with a funnel-shaped tube and five lobes, in clusters at the ends of the stems.
