Dry forest. Ranges and eastern edge of the tablelands north from Bungonia Gorge.
Shrub to 2 m high, or possibly a small tree. Branchlets hairy with fine hairs to hairless. Buds at the bases of the leaves 1 or 2, pointed, hairy with fine hairs. Leaves opposite each other, 2.5–10 cm long, 2–14 mm wide, tips elongated, very pointed, margins entire, surfaces more or less hairy when young, venation more or less obscure except the midrib. Flowers with 4 yellow petals 1.5–2.5 mm long, more or less free from each other except joined in 2 pairs at the base. Flower clusters 7–9-flowered. Flowering: spring. Fruit oval to round, 5–6 mm long, 4–5 mm wide.
