Forest and heath. Coastal north of Tomakin. Ranges north from west of Wollongong.
Shrub to 1 m high. Young stems minutely hairy. Buds at the bases of the leaves 2–4, pointed, hairy with minute hairs. Leaves opposite each other, 2–14 cm long, 12–60 mm wide, about twice as long as broad, tips pointed and often with a small abrupt point, margins finely scalloped, surfaces hairless or hairy with minute hairs when young; venation raised and strongly reticulate. Flowers with 4 pale yellow petals 1.4–2.5 mm long, more or less free from each other except joined in 2 pairs at the base. Flower clusters 5–9-flowered. Flowering: summer. Fruit purplish black, only a little longer than broad, 8–12 mm long, 5–10 mm wide.
