Woodland and heath, frequently amongst rocks. Kosciuszko National Park, the mountains to the north, and ACT.
Shrub to 2 m high, often prostrate and 1–2 m diameter. Branchlets and new shoots hairy with appressed pale to rusty hairs, becoming hairless. Leaves crowded to alternating up the stems, 1–4 cm long, 3–8 mm wide, thick and leathery, margins thickened, usually entire or with rarely a few teeth at the tips, tips almost pointed, both surfaces green and hairless, venation raised on both surfaces. Flowers 4–6 mm long, with 4 cream to white 'petals'. Ovary hairy. Flowers paired, in clusters 1–5 cm long. Flowering: summer. Seeds with one wing.
