Cliffs and sand dunes. Coastal north of Batemans Bay. Occasionally elsewhere.
Introduced shrubby aromatic perennial herb to 1 m high. Stems semi-fleshy; covered in soft hairs. Leaves alternating up the stems or opposite each other, 2–8 cm long 20-80 mm wide, oval to cordate, partially to deeply 3–7-lobed, the lobes toothed, surfaces hairy. Flowers pink, at least the larger pair veined and often blotched dark crimson, with 5 petals each 10–18 mm long. Sepals 5–8 mm long, with a spur 3–4 mm long. Usually 7 stamens that produce pollen. Flowers in 7–12-flowered clusters. Flowering: throughout the year, but chiefly spring.
