Coastal dunes. Other sites from dumped garden rubbish. North from Wollongong. Montague Island east of Narooma.
Introduced shrub to about 1 m high. Stems sticky hairy. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, alternating up the stems, to about 8 cm long and 100 mm wide, shallowly lobed and toothed, sometimes entire, surfaces hairy or more or less hairless. Flowers light to deep pink, usually steaked or blotched crimson, with 5 petals each 15–45 mm long, and usually 8 stamens that produce pollen. Sepals 12–16 mm long, sepal spur 10–20 mm long. Flowers in 3–10-flowered clusters. Flowers Sep.–Jan.
