Dry forest, woodland, and heath. North of Bega. Coast, ranges, and the eastern part of the tablelands. Western Slopes, mainly in the west Wyalong district.
Shrub to 2 m high. Stems hairless or hairy with minute hairs. Leaves aromatic when rubbed, alternating up the stems, crowded to well-spaced, 0.3-0.5 cm long, 1–1.5 mm wide, thick, flattened cylindrical, hairless or the margins sparsely fringed, with blunt tips, or 1–1.5 cm long, 1-1.5 mm wide, more or less cylindrical, with pointed tips. Flowers pale pink to mauve or purple, darker below along the midline, with 5 petals each 6–12 mm long. Stamens with filaments fused for at least half their length, the free portion of the filaments hairy. Anthers hairless, more or less visible beyond the hairs on the filaments. Flowers single or 2 or 3 together. Flowers Winter to Summer.
