Dry forest and heath. Coast, ranges, and the eastern edge of the tablelands, north of the Kings Highway. Occasional elsewhere.
Shrub to 1 m tall, young growth hairy. Leaves alternating up the stems, 0.6-1.5 cm long, to 1.25 mm wide, tips blunt to pointed, margins rolled down. Flowers 5-12 mm long, pea shaped, with 5 petals, 2 joined together to form the keel, yellow to orange with or without reddish markings. Flowers crowded in leafy spikes. Flowers Spring.
