Weed of lawns, pastures, gardens, and disturbed sites. Widespread.
Introduced annual, biennial, or perennial herb to 0.25 m high or prostrate, hairless. Leaves opposite each other or apparently in whorls of 4, 0.4–1.8 cm long, 2–10 mm wide, either stalked and oval or stalkless and spoon-shaped, tips blunt. Flowers 3–4 mm in diameter, with 5 sepals 2–3 mm long, with a broad, green midrib and membranous margins. Petals 5, minute, white. Flowers in much-branched clusters. Flowering: most of the year.
