Forest, shrubland, and rocky areas. Ranges south from Wadbilliga National Park. Possibly coastal at Green Cape south of Eden.
Shrub or tree to 9 m high. New growth densely covered with appressed silvery simple hairs, often appearing coppery-coloured. Older stems almost hairless. Leaves alternating up the stems, mostly 3–10 cm long, 10–25 mm wide, upper surface hairless, lower surface silvery to whitish hairy with simple hairs above a fine stellate-tomentum (needs a hand lens or a macro app on your phone/tablet to see), lateral veins fawn-coloured, raised above the surrounding hair layer, looping to the inside and not reaching the leaf margins, tips pointed. Flowers cream to pale yellow, mostly about 2 mm long, with 5 sepals, 5 petals, in sparse branched clusters.
